My mother is a diabetic that is insulin dependent. Plus she takes the pills.
I know from experience with her and her health that you need to talk to your doctor.
There are soooooooo many medications that a diabetic can NOT take.
Even a lot of over the counter drugs are not permitted for a diabetic.

Please DO NOT take medical advice from anyone on an open forum regarding medications especially with being a diabetic. Consult your doctor that is treating your diabetes and see if he can prescribe something that is safe for you.

And for those telling you that at 50 your to old for sex........they must still be teenagers........lol
Sex at 50 is not any different then sex at 20. Geeshhhhhhhh
I just wish I could be a fly on a wall when these teenagers reach their 40's and 50's and have to hear teenagers tell THEM what they tell us now. I would be laughing my *** off.

You should consult your doctor and find a medication that works best for you. I don't know much about being a diabetic or anything, my main reason for replying to this question in the first place is simply because I admire you for wanting to continue to have a healthy sexual relationship with your wife even at the age of 50. I was shocked to see that some people replied and said that you were too "old" to have sex and just not to worry about it...how nuts...I don't know where people get off thinking that 50 is old. I myself am only 21 and know so many people even in their early 40s who no longer share a bed, much less have sex - which I think is crazy. Basically i just wanted to say that YOU ROCK! =)

#1 FORGET WHAT GOOFY VENKKY 777 SAID!
#2 Your sex life doesn't end at 50 because you have diabetes.
#3 Find out what your doctor recommmends-Viagra, Cialis etc.

I'm over 65, diabetic and sex ain't over yet, not quite the same as at 25,35,45,55, but still a nice Hobby!
Just curious, Why does the erection have to be PERFECT?
I'd think you'd be happy with a GOOD one!

I would suggest that you speak to your diabetes doctor so that she/he can determine the best drug you can take for your erectile dysfunction. This is the best thing for you to do given you are taking other drugs to control the diabetes.

Have you talked to your wife about your feelings? I am certain she would understand what is going on with you, and will be right by your side as you walk through this. My former husband was an insulin dependent diabetic and this sometimes happened to him. I was always kind and nurturing about it because I understood that it was a by-product of the disease.

WIth best wishes, good luck and support!

I don't know for sure how viagara will react with insulin or other diabetes medication, but it works fine with my zoloft. You know, some of these younger people are just creeped out by their visions of two old wrinkly bodies making the moster with two backs just need to understand that if you love someone, no matter how old you are you can still enjoy the big "O"rgasm. People at all ages need to show their love for their significant other and lots of older and even elderly people express their love by sexual intercourse. It is also a healthy activity for older people. It gets their hearts pumping and they're sucking wind, getting their excercise. Sex may even help your parents live longer. It may give us all a little extra longevity.

there are many natural male enchancemet herbs and remedies on the market but if you have diabetes the medications and your medical condition can be a factor. Talk to your doctor and see what he says is available for you. try checking the tv for commercials for the men's fact web page and again check with your doctor he will help you with the right medications you need.

Eating lots of leafy greens, whole grains, oysters, watermelon, and blueberries (most any fruit will work, really) will help you give your body all that it needs to improve the quality of your erections, while cutting out processed foods, cigarettes and alcohol will provide further benefits. Add in a healthy dose of exercise at least three times per week, and you’re well on your way to better sexual health!

TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!! there are meds out there but depends on what meds you are on. Pleas don't be shy about it. It is normal . Guess what i am a woman. It is nothing different than a woman going to the doctor and talking to a man about her problems as well. If you don't want your wife knowing make the appointment yourself. But erections don';t have to be perfect either. Romance man romance!!

I would get a medical opinion from a doctor. You wouldn't want to take anything that would counter act with the medicine you are currently taking.

Talk to your doctor as he/she would be the most knowledgeable person and would also be able to determine what medication if any may work for you without causing any troubles with your other meds
Good Luck
