B/C PROBABLY THEY ARE TIRED OF NOT BEING BEAUTIFUL IN SOCIETYS EYES

2006-09-01 08:01:48 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 2

I think as already said, it's a lot to do with societies values and what is supposed to look 'sexy'. It seems to me that there seems to be this look that girls of all colours are trying to be, the skinny, bronzed, blondish, long haired look (eg. all of Girls Aloud, Beyonce, etc.) and the fact is we are all different and should not all want to look the same! I'm White and have a mixed race daughter with very light skin and green eyes, she is beautiful but is always complimented on how pretty she is BECAUSE of her light skin and how everyone will fancy her when she's older! It really irritates me and her! She wants to be darker because she knows Black is beautiful! I go into Black salons for her to get her hair cream and the shelves are stacked with skin lightening agents, it disgusts me! There needs to be more positive dark skinned women in the media, especially here in Britain, my daughter for one is proud of her Black roots and will keep her hair Black and curly, but one girl in her school already has her hair relaxed at age 4! How messed up is that! We all need to be proud of how we look and stop bending to societies rules, cuz we all will soon just look like clones.

Personally I don't see what the fuss is with black women (women of color) making their hair blonde or wearing a blonde wig.

All women are entitled to have whatever hair color they wish (even if it is pink, as my cousin's hair is).

I'm white and I've had my hair (during different times in my life) be white-blonde (like Marilyn Monroe), blonde, dirty blonde, brown, dark brown, and red. I am seriously thinking of making my hair black now.

It all depends on the person and if their choice of hair color looks good on them.

Women (regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation) are very patriotic and should be applauded.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

What exactly is a patriotic black girl and why is their blonde hair any different from a regular black girl?

You have never seen Mrs. Rice with a blonde wig

I'm not sure what this has to do with being patriotic. I thought being patriotic was painting little flags on your cheeks and wearing red, white and blue. Besides, who cares what someone looks like, it's their life.

You are on drugs!!! I actually spend time outside getting darker and have a beautiful head of curly hair. I might consider doing something like this on Halloween...however, I have no inclination or intention of masking or altering the natural beauty God gave me.

1. So what. As long as no one is breaking any laws or causing bodily damage, why do you care?

2. Live and let live. Life's more interesting that way.

I'm black and I have NEVER seen that. I'm the black girl with natural locks that you see sitting in the sun trying to get darker.
