Do they put in as much effort as anyone else? Shouldn't the workplace be diverse? I'm not gay, but I believe in equality.

Because people always assume they are coming on to everyone. If you can do the job it doesn't matter what you do in private

I was treated unfairly at my old job so I quite. My new job is great, they don't discriminate. Most companies in the U.S. are ran by Homo Hating Owners, just like the rest of America. You have to find a company that doesn't discriminate like Citibank. My Director is acutally the Chairperson for the Gay community within our company. Citi rocks. It doesn't matter if your Gay or Straight, you either work hard or you don't. Being gay has nothing to do with work ethics. I use to work in HR for years. And I know that for a fact.

People are always uncomfortable with what they don't understand. I find that I don't encounter it as much, because I don't make an issue out of my sexuality and I don't fit the visual stereotypes.
On the other hand, I have to put up with people telling me that of course I'll want to get married and have kids someday. I try to keep my personal life out of the office, but after so many of those comments, a girl just can't take it anymore.

We are treated differently in the workplace bcause of stupidity and ignorance. But of course I am not treated that way at my job.

Same reason they're treated differently anywhere else - stupid people. The world ain't perfect, dahling! I've learned to just deal with it and live life.

Gays are treated differently (more and bigger raises, faster promotions) because they are the smartest and most creative workers. If you want a job done right, give it to a gay.
