i have one word for you.
*dissociate*
alienate yourself from the source of regret. dissociate yourself from that situation that you messed up in.
think back. i'm pretty sure you'll find that there was NOTHING you could have done differently. all that you did, you did because that was the only way you could do it. you did what you did (or didn'y do what you didn't do) because given all the circumstances and factors and situation, it was the only way it could've turned out.
the situation was to be blamed. not you. heck you were just a pawn in the situation comedy.
and if you still cant make bad feeling go away...
i have one mantra for you.
*" screw it "*

Basically I try NOT to think of it very much, cause the more I'll think about it, the more I'll become sad and will cry.
So, I always think of it as something I learned from and its history now, knowing that I MUST go on and move along with my life.
Its such a horrible feeling to feel. Seriously I avoid it by skipping it.
I always admit that I'm wrong if I did something not right and never get ashamed from apologizing but when it comes to regretting things that just happened, I say to myself that: It just happened, and maybe its better this way. Maybe God made me do this or I chose to do this in order to have good consequences in the future, as well as I try to learn from what I did ALL THE TIME. And NEVER look back.
What has been done is already done, neither You or Anyone can change it. So deal with it and carry on your life :)

When I was younger I always held that I didn't regret anything because by undoing something in the past would change the person I am now. I was obviously happy the way I was but mostly I was happy with the possibilities of my future.
Now that I am older (old perhaps) I regret a lot of things. Looking back I know now what I should have done or should have said, but I did not know enough then.

I've found regret to be the emotion that takes the longest to fade - there are things I've done that I've felt strong pangs of regret about for years afterward. The best thing I think you can do, though, is just to wait it out - like all other things, it will pass, or at least fade. Another helpful thing is to examine what you did that made you feel regret, and why you did it, and take steps not to make similar mistakes in the future.

I never regret anything I do or say, there is no point. I am sometimes ashamed of what I have done or said, no regrets though, it's good to think about stuff before going ahead with whatever, if you make a descision to do something then why regret?

I have found that It is a state of mind, a discipline to acquire to not allow myself to dwell on regret....I work through it as I move forward...The further I get away from the mistake the less of an issue it becomes. However, there will always be a scar.

With a great deal of difficulty.
I learned years ago to worry about things I can do something about and do not worry about things I cannot do.
Regret comes under the second category.

Ok, if there was something you meant to do and didn't (or said), and there is still a way for you to fix it, do it. If there isn't any way whatsoever, stop wasting your time for real. There is no way you can bring back time or take away what you said so stop losing your time regreting and do something about it. Late will be the day you die, not a second earlier.
