your best bet is to see a doctor. he will prescribe an antibiotic and suggest you drink a lot of water. this is so that more antibiotic will go through the system that is sick.
my wife and daughter will drink lots of cranberry juice if they feel a urinary tract infection coming on and sometime that will do the trick. i don't think it will cure a full blown infection though.
i'd see a doctor and get some antibiotics.

That is only part of the solution yes water does help, however urinary tract infections occur for a variety of reasons. There are several ways to cure it but I will always advise a professional form of treatment over an over the counter remedy because you will not be able to access the same dosage of the proper medications you will need to treat it effectively.

I have never heard that drinking lots of water cures a urinary tract infection, but I have heard the drinking lots of cranberry juice helps clear up urinary tract / bladder infections. You should still go to a doctor to make sure you are okay. The last thing you want is for in infection to spread to your kidneys. But like I said, cranberry juice should help.

Alka-Seltzer Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly -- even though the product was never been advertised for this use. (Note: Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine is not the same..and contains aspirin, which can cause stomach bleeding if you have ulcers

Nothing over the counter will cure it, but drink a lot of cranberry juice. You can also look for Azo tabs in the feminine care section of the pharmacy. It will reduce the pain.

cranberry juice is what you should be drinking. Also if you have burning or pain go to walmart or kmart and buy AZO standard, this will help as soon as you pee to make the burning stop and make you feel better. A lot of water is good too cause it will flush out your system a little but it will not make the infection go away.
