did macedonians have a different language than greek at the time of aleksander?

There was certainly a distinction made because the Greek historian Plutarch had a word for "speak Macedonian" Μακεδονιζειν in his work on the life of Alexander.
Also Μακεδονιστι "in Macedonian".

Probably no more different than when the Etruscans spoke with the Latins who became the Romans. Certainly no one in Greece is going to take it into consideration. Great restaurants. I got a kick out of walking into one after the casual ' Yasous ' and seeing a sign on the wall: ( Quote )

" Macedonia is, was, and always will be, Greek. "

I guess the matter's been decided.
