Nessie is fake, one of the guys who made it up fessed up a few years ago on his death bed. A group of them was involved and they made a pact not to tell anyone until the last one was dying.
Although there are those who bealive that the confession was a hoax and Nessie is real. I think either The Discovery Channel or TLC ran something on it this year. Scientist were on talking about if its even scientifically possible for something that big to live in The Loch Ness.
It's very rare for there to be only 1 of a creature left, seeing as most animals cannot survive alone and that legend has been around since the early 1900's so, if it has no one to reproduce with, there would be no more of the species and how long could it possibly live for.

Whats that going over the hill - is it a monster?
Could be real - could be a dinosour that survived - although why didn't others also survive? - maybe it was trapped in ice for years and suddenly thawed out?. one thing for sure is that it has done a lot for the tourist trade there.
Guess we will never know -short of draining the lake. Believe there were even some students that built a life size model at one stage and floated it round the lake with them contained inside as well to add to the hoax.
As with all things there is aguments for and against, and even conspiracy theories - which both always sound convincing.
People have spent years trying to prove - but still no totally conclusive proof.
Same goes with bigfoot as well

Total fantasy (but don't tell the tourists)! There isn't enough fish in Loch Ness to feed an animal of Nessie's size for even a day.

reality. the sonar readings indicate that there is something in the loch. there's plenty of room in the loch for a creature of the size indicated.. there are also some photos that show a webbed foot that certainly isn't a tree limb.if there is a opening into and out of the loch then a food source can keep getting in or if its big enough and long enough to reach the ocean nesse can go in and out for food. or it may be a unclassified deep sea creature that can swell like a blowfish .

Not sure.
I watched this documentary by Dr. Hovind, and he relates all these stories, pictures and illustrations of creatures like "Nessie", and Nessie.
I think that there could be one, and that it's probably just a kind of almost extinct creature like a fish or whale.

Back in June of 1946 i was camping on the eastern side of the loch with some friends.
We were swimming and playing the fool as you do when your young. There were 8 of us in all.
Well this big black serpent came up out of the water we only just got back to the bank.
We went back for most summers for 40 years but gradually our numbers dwindled.
We never did get to see it again.
In 1998 i went back on my own to the very same spot and thought for a moment it had returned, but it was just a trick of the light in an old mans eyes.
There is only me left now to tell the tale and even i have had to give up the heroin as i just can't afford it on my pension.

there is a few theory's about this but the one i think to be closest to what many people claim to see is: The red deer in this area of our country travel great distances in order to find food and survive and as Loch Ness is an obstacle, rather than go round this 20 odd mile obstacle they simple swim across in a single line hence all the humps in the water that people claim to call the Loch Ness monster
