My boyfriend has been smoking pot for over 20 years. Is this a serious drug? Would he go to great lengths to make sure that he had it? Would he lie to get it and keep other people from knowing his contacts? I do not know much about it, but he has little papers with men's phone numbers everwhere. I think that I have caught him in at least 2 lies. I am trying to figure out if the lies partain to sexual affairs or if they are his pot contacts. I have even suspected that he is gay, with all of the phone numers and all. I just want to know how this drug can affect someones life.

Pot is not serious actually it's not even addictive sounds like he is doing a little more than just pot.

It really depends on the person. I think if he puts it as a necessity then he will lie for it but if he uses it only recreationally then it won't be that big of a deal wether he has it or not. but it sounds like you have a habitual user. My husband used "pot" for 35 years and it was something he "needed" to have. All the hush about the numbers is because they are "dealers", sweetie. You need to either accept that this is in his life so that he can be honest with you or tell him that you are going to leave him if he doesnt stop. My husband was extremley forgetful and it did cause him to make a lot of foolish "spur of the moment" mistakes in his life as far as causing cancer, I don't know but he has never had it. I do not believe what they say in the advertisements about pot being the first step in drugs only because my husband has never used anything else or has never even drank. So that kind of blows the theory out the door (at least for some). It does cause a financial burden on a relationship that's for sure, it gets pretty expensive. I think you need to be honest with him, preferably when you see his eyes dialated and glossy (its harder for them to lie to you when they're high, trust me) you can really run in circles around them to get answers. Then ask yourself if thats the kind of life style you want to live? My husband had to stop because his work started to D.T all employees and he had just way too much to lose, so after 35 yrs and a month of holy hell, detoxing here at home he has stopped. Good luck to you

Pot is a downer, makes you less social. It doesn't make you lie or cheat or anything like that. It would only make you feel all relaxed, think long and hard about ridiculous things and get the munchies! If you ask me hes more likely not to cheat on you if he is a pot head than an alcoholic or anything else. Just because people that do that are not outgoing and social.

No, pot is not bad!!!!

I live in Canada, and we grow all the weed for the US. The US is very angry about it and have a propaganda campaign against it and have been placing agents in Canada to try to bust us for it, but we don't care. We all smoke it here, even some of our grandparents do. Pot is a nice mellow drug, unlike alcohol which is much more addictive and harder on the body and mind.

it is not a serious drug. the most side effects a person gets is the "munchies" (get very hungry). it is not that addicted (most persons can go without it) {it isnt like cocaine}. and no it is not the pot that is making ur boyfriend lie (it is him)

I personally beleive that if some smokes pot as a lifestyle, they are a huge loser. I'll look the other way when it's a kid experimenting, but come on, grow up. He's a loser, and he lies. Leave the jerk.
