Oh well by "nobody" as in "nobody watches this stupid.."who do you mean? Where I am, everybody watches it! As far as I know in all Europe it's the same. I think this is your problem buddy. You don't respect an international tournament. You go and announce yourself as the best team in the world before even playing your games, and when you lose or when you can't get the title officially you just go mad. It's ok to feel sad because you lost, but please have some respect to an international event.
Your team is good, noone can deny it. But it is not the best team in the world now, and it's not gonna be for at least 4 years now. Just accept it and do not overlook your opponents.

I agree with Greekgeek, the time of US supremacy on basketball is well past, not now, but since a decade or so. It's not just that there aint classy players like Jordan, Magic, Barkley, Bird, etc, in American basketball anymore, but that the rest of the world players have improved a lot.
Just look at the numbers; how many non-US players are playing in the NBA now, and how many were playing 10 years ago. That's the difference, ten years ago any given Team USA(NBA players) was invincible. Not anymore. Besides, I think American basketball lacks the tactical display of other countries. Very much. You'll need to sort that out. Physical power is not everything.
Anyway, no matter what NBA players go and play the world championship, there are a number of countries that can beat them. It's been proved once again. Even if you select the best possible US team, it can be beaten.
By the way, Spain will win the World Trophy in spite of Gasol's injury (Sorry greekgeek).

It is time that Team USA plays some fundemental basketball, including zone defense, play as a team instead of the "me" mentality.

im greek, i agree with most of the things u say, but its not the first time u loose. lets face it, things have changed, its not that ur not good, but the rest of us have become better.
Rtorto, with Gasol u would stand a chance, but without him.. anyway, i think the only sure thing is that it will be a great game.
may the best win (im really sorry that Pau isnt going to play)
