can i get this sofware free from some website...i repeat its for mac....

You can design any website using a text editor if you know HTML. If you don't know HTML, I'd go with DreamWeaver MX or DreamWeaver 8. but this will cost money.(USD[$] 399).
I suggest just buying a few books for about $50 at your used book store and learning HTML, CSS and Javascript, so you can just write in a word processor. You'd have to know Java, ASP, Perl, MySql, asp.NET and vb.NET to use any of them whether you're using a website designer or not.
I also agree with the previous answerer that Adobe Photoshop is the best for designing graphics. Also get Adobe Illustrator.

In terms of graphics software I would use Adobe Photoshop. For the coding portion just use a standard text editor -- they really are the best for designing sites.

Dreamweaver will run on Mac's and it is the best but it is not free after the trial expires. Actually it is very expensive.

Dreamweaver is one of the best you can find, But is very pricy. If you dont want that then you could use Microsoft Frontpage. htought the results are not very good but its cheap
