Why are Republicans so afraid of terrorists that they blindly give away all of their own rights? In the past, true patriots were willing to die to preserve those rights. Now we can't afford to keep those rights because someone might die. Is it that the republicans are too cowardly or simply not patriotic enough?

As to the rights that republicans are giving up, lets start with the bill of rights: You have given up Amendments I, IV, V, VI, and VII. If you don't think you are, then you obviously do not know what rights the founding fathers wrote into the constitution.

Why do you say Republicans? I don't happen to be one but, there are some Democrats (Liberals) that feel the same way as some Republicans do..
Seriously, if you take any subject (any subject at all) and poll 100 Republicans and 100 Democrats you are going to find that some in each group are in agreement.
This divide between Republicans and Democrats or Liberals and Conservatives is just plains ludicrous ... no two people hold the same exact views on 100 percent of all the topics, all the time.
Address people as individuals, not groups.

What rights are you referring to? I know of no lost rights.
Oh, I see, this is the usual factless Democrat blather.
Typical. You've finally realized that you have no plan for the future so you need to whine. I miss the Democrats of the 60's; they had an idea and a plan. Today most Democrats (and most Republicans) simply snipe at the other side with absolutely nothing to offer as a strategy.
Yesterday on NPR one of the interviewers wouldn't let Barbara Boxer get away with just whining. She kept pushing Boxer for details on what the Dems would do differently. Boxer was getting very frustrated and just kept repeating her bashing sound-bite but this interviewer wouldn't let her blather on and would interrupt and repeat the question. If the Democrats don't come up with a talking plan soon they will lose their lead in the polls.

No the REAL question should be why is it that when 911 happened did all the liberals support the war on terriorism and then when they found out that our BRAVE soliders were fighting and dieing for a cause that 90% of our troops support, did you stop the support on the war? What did you think they were going to do throw rocks and sand at us?

What rights are being given away? Are they any worse that the other rights the government wrenches away from us?
The Democrats are worse than the Republicans when it comes to overstepping the authority of, and undermining, the constitution.
How can you say getting your bags checked prior to a flight is worse than the other civil rights the government has stripped from us over the years? Any breech of rights is wrong, some can't be quantified over others.

This question is ridiculous. To categorize any group of people in such generalities is offensive. What's next from you - a question about some other subgroup of people? Please stop the stereotyping. And, please understand that our Founding Fathers created a government that is based on the separation of powers. If any Congress was "giving" constitutional rights away, the judicial branch of government has the authority to declare such acts unconstitutional.

What rights exactly have you given away. Unless you have made overseas calls to terrorists or sent them money not to worry. Why do not you read exactly what you are protesting? The Patriot act merely makes intelligence agencies more cooperative.

Since we make up the majority of the volunteer force we certainly put or money where are mouth is. What rights have you given up? I keep hearing you whiney lil cowards talk about it, but never get the answer when I ask? So why don't you just keep quiet. There are those that do, and then there are liberals.

So, let me get this straight. For all of us to be patriots, wanting to keep our rights, we all have to be willing to die at the hands of a bunch of terrorists who don't have and don't want those rights?

I believe the chicken feathers have been flying rather thickly for some years now from coast to coast, north and south. And not on account of any terrorists, either, I might add.

Yea, I keep hearing about all of these rights I am giving up.
However, I have yet to SEE any of these rights going away.
It seems to me the only rights I have been losing are through BS nanny laws passed by LIBERALS.
