I had neither a father or a mother.
My grand parents took me in at 4.
But neither of them had the time to do anything
other than keep me fed and clothed. I appreciate that!!!
many people talk about Jesus or God being a "father"
It is a concept I can not even comprehend.
I consider my self a pretty bad father because all I can do is feed and cloth my children. I don't use drugs, I don't beat on them or cuss at them.
But they need a father which I am not.

This isn't a soapbox for preaching religious beliefs. Maybe your mother just got pregnant...didn't know who your father was....got pregnant and told you that you were adopted....didn't want you to make the same mistake so she became a born again christian (by the sounds of it) as most former cons, drug addicts and promiscuous women do...at some point. Seriously...there is no call to be posing a question like that, something that is a serious subject for a lot of people and then preaching to them. Not cool....

While I think that your faith was one reason why you didnt take the route that so many young girls take (regardless if they have a father in their life or not), the credit should go to your mother who obviously raised you well (Im a single mom w/two kids and I know how difficult it is to raise children by yourself) and gave you morals and introduced you to God. I worry that my daughter (who's father is in and out of life..mostly out) will take the path that I took when I was a teenager (sex, drugs etc.). We are Christian and I try to raise her and my son with the morals and values I should have had back then. I pray that she takes the same attitude as you. God Bless and Thank you.

I grew up with out my father and it was very rough, but 4 years before he passed, my sister and I got to spend those years with him and it was so wonderful, we traveled just the 3 or us , we rode a merry-go-round and that was really neat, we put in alot of time talking and making up for fhose lost years, it was the best time of my life, something I will treasure forever. All the bad feelings I carried for many years just went away. I agree with you about God, because there were times, I could not have made it with out him.

that is really cool . you sound like a great person. know to answer you question i didn't have a father who lived with me until i was eight. i lived with my mom traveling all the time i once live in Europe for six months. life was perfect just me and my mom taking walks on the beach going to museums all the time.( that's how i got into art.) then a new guy came in to the picture, i didn't expect them to get married and make my annoying little bro. (funny sometimes) i am just getting comfortable to him and i am now fifteen. we get along great. on thee 29th we are going to a megadeth concert. we both play guitar and i love the same music the only real differences between us are physically and he love wine and snails( to eat).ahahaha. but really its great after he came in to the picture our live has changed a great deal. we moved for California to New York right after 9/11 and we have met so may great people and done so many great things. God is good to me. I'm sure he has a great life in store for you.
i ope i answered your question. i don't even care if you choose me as your best answer... i just hope i could help you.

its even amazing that a single mother was able to adopt. MOST agencies require 2 parents in the household.
Im glad you havent sought out the attention of men the way most girls do when they need that father, I will credit that to your mother who obviously taught you some morals. good luck
