It is liberals that decided to group people based on color. Asian American, Hispanic American, African American, and so on..... Blacks in america come from carribean, austraila, perto rico, brazil, and some don't even come from africa or never set foot in africa, so why call them african americans? LIBERALS who are white in america have this problem called self guilt for being handed a silver spoon all through life.

Liberals are not racist... thats just the Democrats.

They divide the races and keep social tension high, creating a "Them vs. Us" mindset.

PC terminology is designed to fuel that tension. To remind people how they are different instead of trying to bring them together.

Greetings!

I don't think it's a liberal thing because this country was inhabited on several principles, by those with a legally "proclaimed" national descent name, therefore nationality was an issue and remains so. Somewhere it all got twisted and label's became an issue to the point where it is today.

Japanese American, Hispanic American, German American, etc., are National Descent names denoting a nationality, but African American and all the other names given are label's for those of a darker hue due to the lack of being taught our national Descent name throughout our American history. Africa is a Continent, not a Country!!!

Peace

As a conservative, I believe that's a mere generalization. Sure, some of the far-far-far left see things that way but most normal people don't.

But I do see your point. Individuals who are second, third, fourth generation African-Americans are labeled as such because of their appearance, however, they have never set foot in Africa. I'm part European and Mexican but I have never been to both (well, I did go to Tijuana on a school trip with my Spanish class).

There is such a thing as a white African-American; there are whites living in South Africa (a huge melting pot) and some have immigrated here.

Yeah, pretty much Tom has this right.

Liberals are the group who accept all, and they, for sure, didn't come up with these labels.

I dunno if you realize this, but it's black Americans who have told the rest of us to call them African Americans. It's the Asian Americans who have asked us call them that. It's not like some white guy came up with that phrase, btw...he'd still be using "colored" and "Oriental", which are apparently labels that y'all got tired of.

I'm white, and I have never had any silver spoon. I don't have guilt, 'cause I haven't done anything wrong. I don't care what y'all decide you want to be called...I'll try to use whichever phrase you prefer, whenever possible.

Meanwhile, tell ya what...If you stop generalizing about me, I'll stop generalizing about you. Seem reasonable?

Political correctness (also politically correct, P.C. or PC) is a term used to describe language that is calculated to provide a minimum of offense, particularly to the racial, cultural, or other identity groups being described. The concept typically refers to the English language, but is not exclusive to it. A text that conforms to the ideals of political correctness is said to be politically correct.

The existence of PC has been alleged and denounced by conservative, (Lind, Buchanan, Sobran), liberal (Hentoff 1992, Schlesinger 1998), and other (Brandt 1992) commentators. The term itself and its usage is hotly contested. Some left-wing commentators have argued on the contrary that "political correctness" is a straw man invented by the New Right to discredit what they consider progressive social change, especially around issues of race and gender. Other left-wing commentators embrace and actively utilize the phrase, so there is confusion whether or not it was invented.

Why are the NeoCons so offended by the fact that we don't want to offend our fellow human beings? If anything, you people are the ones who perpetuate stereotypes. NO ONE is without a vast and varied history in this country, as far as genealogy is concerned.

You say its only Liberals who group people by color? Oh man, you are blind. And are only here to serve yourself and separate Americans. I seriously believe you need a history lesson...
I need to remind you that America was a liberal idea. Washington and Jefferson were the liberals; King George was the conservative.
Abolitionists were liberals; slave owners were the conservatives.
And America was built by liberals -- by dissenters, by those persecuted for their religion or their race.
America needs both liberals and conservatives to balance, not separate. There is good to be found in both ideals and as long as people, like you, come and spread the hate, this will go on and on.

it really is established conservative projection and the same old "i comprehend you're yet what am I?" reaction. Liberals do not split issues in conserving with race, they in basic terms opt for no longer to brush aside the inequities that exist already by that split. Care to furnish examples of each and every of the a lot of legislations crammed with minority and gender quotas that liberals create for no reason in any respect? did not imagine so. it really is the problem with regurgitating and parroting speaking factors, you frequently won't be able to again up belongings you're ignorant about.

The consideration of "race" did not exist until after Darwin published his THEORY. The libs then used that as an excuse to "prove" that they are superior to anyone who doesn't look like them. The vast majority of civil rights were instituted by Republicans. It was the Demorats who wanted to keep slavery.

Yes! Precisely.

By rallying behind multiculturism they are in fact promoting racism.

We need a common binder in order to fully integrate into a society and languague is it. We must standardize on English as a first language for ALL persons in the globe. You can have your countries language as a second language.

All political correctness aside this is the primary problem as to why immigrants do not integrate well.

English as a second language? uh uh. English first.

Why do you think all airline pilots must speak english? Because all international airports standardized to English.
