If You Owe Blockbuster Video Rental Fees Do You Have To Pay Them Before You Can Before You Rent A Movie? I've got a free rental coupon and I wanna use it but I know I have some late fees from like 2 years ago when I last rented from them and then they had that whole no late fees thing running and I'm not sure if you have to pay them before you can rent another movie...

Yes you have to pay them before you rent again! Usually costs an arm and a leg though!

Screw blockbuster! If they say you have to pay before you rent, dont pay up. Dont rent from there ever again. There is always Hollywood Video who are bigger than they are anyway or you can always go the "netflix" way. Cheaper and NO LATE FEES for real.

Usually, you do.....but we had a late fee that was probably 2-3 years old....and when we rent in to rent again, we figured we'd just pay it. Well, apparently, they no longer had it on file.

The next time you go in they make you pay, and if it's longer than a month they send you a letter in the mail about late fees.

Once you pay your late fees then you can use your free rental coupon. you could always try to use the coupon for late fee forgiveness but I wouldn't count on it but try anyway. the worse they could say is no.

Yep. You're lucky that you made it two years. They once turned our seven dollar late fee over for collection. Because, you know, that seven dollars will make or break a multi-million dollar corporation like Blockbuster.

Why dont you call them and ask them? I still dont understand the no late fees thing . One day they have em the next day they dont. Who knows for sure!

I heard they got sued over that whole thing. Does anyone know if that's just a rumor?

You proabably do and ussally the late fees build up interest expecially since it's been 2 years. they would proably want you to pay before you could rent again.

Probably, try calling them up and asking if you have a charge?
