My friend gave me his PDA because he upgraded to some other hi-tech device. But he's wiped off the memory and all that shows is a white screen when turned on. So is it true that I can put my own service on there and how much does service for something like that generally cost?

Agreed. What type of PDA is it? Provide that, and we can edit our answers.

There maybe something wrong with that PDA. Wiping out the memory doesn't mean you should get a white screen with nothing on it. It just mean all the personal data is gone but the basic applications should still be there. You should provide the model of the PDA.

A Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) does not require activation with any service. Which PDA do you have? All you need to do is calibrate it, which means that when you first turn it on, it will ask you to go through a few steps to activate the screen, set the time, date, and location. Once you go through those steps, the PDA would be ready to use. Enjoy!
