Rescue Me was only ever supposed to be on for 1 season. The third season just ended with two of the main characters in serious jeopardy. I say it will come back again next May for a 4th season. My boyfriend says, since Peter Tolan, the director and producer of the show made a guest appearance on the show as Chief Pecher, that he wanted to get his face on TV one last time before the show is calling it quits. What do you think?

I'm pretty sure it will. The season finale was the season finale...not the series finale. I think it has at least one more left.
It won't be over due to poor ratings that's for sure. When it ends it will be their choice.
Damn, I love that show!

That would be sad if it went down. I think they all will be back. I think there will be some fallout early on over the fire and the drugs. I think Franco will lose the girlfriend and the daughter. That relationship is boring. I think Tommy will get back with his wife again. He's Catholic. Some how I think he will sleep with the nun. It is just a great idea. I think she will leave. I'd like to see the deaf sister come back at that point and hook up with the Lt. And Probie needs to get hurt. He needs a break from sex all together. If any one should go it should be him. Any if you wanted to really screw things up insert a female chief. Everything would go crazy.

I didn't know that the temp chief "pecker" was the director and producer. But I think it will come back for a 4th season. It's a great show. My fiance and I love that show.

I love the show. FX announced that when denis leary got nominated for a emmy that the show will definately return for a 4th season b/c of the success it has had in the ratings.

I hope it will. I don't watch much TV but that's about the only regular series type show that I actually make an effort to get home in time to watch. And that's why I'm glad they replay it at 11 pm in my time zone.

One of my favorite shows.
They set it up for a 4th season. With everyone who was going to leave (Lou not taking the boat job, Franco not taking the test) now staying, they have to come back.
Besides, we have to see pyscho Sheila in a nuthouse, and we have to see Tommy and Janet back together.
I refuse to believe it's not coming back.

Rescue Me will indeed be back for a 4th season. That's just my opinion. I mean they don't show enough episodes for you to hate it.

fairly they DO get off the island.. a minimum of a few of them do. keep in mind final season they did that flash forward? jack appeared like a homeless guy and kate pulls up in her automobile, and jack is speaking loopy asserting "we weren't meant to go away!" (or something like that).. so something definetely occurs there. i choose to work out who fairly needs to stay on the island. i won't be able to look ahead to the main suitable! i re-arranged my college time table so i'd desire to be homestead while its on :)

Oh, it will be back. Dennis Leary with an Emmy. Any network would be crazy to drop it. Besides, we have to find out whos baby it is...I think it's Johnnies..
