Oo, I *hate* Limewire! Just filled up my computer up with ads.
I would definitely recommend the Shareaza and Soulseek. They are both really good P2P programs.

The problem is not limewire (at least a clean copy of limewire) or any other ptp software, it is the content that you download that causes the problems. For every person that is posting good stuff there are 10 or 12 posting harmful content. If you want free music, listen to the radio!

Limewire is fine for music downloads. I trust my virus programs, but I believe Limewire also offers one with it's program. For movies, it's another whole story. I have noticed the misnamed ones a lot too.

My mom pays for pro and loves it.

We both used to have Kazaa but like Limewire better.

I use lime-wire Pro and I have not gotten no virus yet. I had it for going on 3 years now and it's actually better then Kazza and some other sites. My advice to you is get a good anti-virus program there are ones that are free on-line like AVG and then download lime-wire. When you get the program on your computer download lime-wire pro and you should be good, just scan all files before opening them up. Good luck!!

Hi

I have used it, generally its fine. I did download a sppywear when i downloaded a zip file, which was kind of stupid of me but I managed to remove it.
THe other problem I have had is someone is posting loads of files that when you play them turn out to be something else. At the moment it seems to be president clinton saying he did not have sex with Monic Lewinsky! (not sure why)
But on the whole it works fine for downoading music.
