its the flasher. or a bulb. 4 ways work sometimes when the flashers dont. I would replace all bulbs first then check. if that doesnt work then replace the flasher.
i also have a 97 blazer

It could be the hazard switch, even though they are working, it is all part of the same circuit. Check with a GM dealer to see if there is a recall out on your vehicle to repair that problem. I don't think that there is, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Fuse, bad flasher, or electrical problem. Go with the fuse first, and replace the flasher, and that will more than likely fix your problem. Good Luck!

look at the other side of the fuse box for the other flasher unit 4 way is heavy duty and turnsignals normal duty flasher.

Check your bulbs....are they two prong on the bottom or only one? You may simply have the wrong bulbs installed....this happened to me once.

,a bulb as two filaments may be bad bulbs , is it the two front ones only ?,check the bumper ground
