I don't like it, but my wife is constantly trying to hold-hands or sneak a quick kiss on the cheek in public all the time, I'm like we have been married for 12 years it's time to calm down.

A smile, a hand holding, even a light hug or brief kiss ought to be tolerable in public. But for tongue-swapping, body groping, flagrent fondling, hip humping--get a room! Still, if there are two doing some heavy necking and petting (a couple of old terms I don't hear much these days, ask an old-timer what they mean) done in a corner in the shadows, leave 'em alone until the clothes start coming off. We used to say, "If the van's a rocking, don't come knocking" and there is the public equivalent of that, but they better park somewhere in the corner of the lot and away from the lights--if you get my drift.

Well, I guess you have to define public displays of affection. I mean, holding hands is ok, maybe even a quick peck on the cheek or maybe lips, but anything further makes others around uncomfortable. At least I know I'm uncomfortable if people around me go farther than that.

A little affection is cool but not hot n' heavy.
I'll never forget a plane trip with my spouse. It was a red-eye from Dallas to New Orleans on a 757 with very few passengers. Well, all of a sudden a couple changes their seats to the ones directly behind us because we were abourt the only ones in this particular section of the plane. He starts playing with her betwwen her legs and she was getting off on it. The smell of sex was heavy in the air. We got up and moved away from them.
I thought that was a bit much.

Couples who hold hands in public are cute. Couples who walk around gripping each other's butts are gross. Couples who make out while waiting in line at the grocery store are annoying and kind of creepy. Making out on park benches should be okay for teenagers though, because where else are they supposed to go. If they have too much privacy then too many girls end up getting pregnant. Making out as in kissing I mean, that's about all.

Kissing or holding hands is great, but I hate it when couples make out and are all on top of eachother in public. It makes everyone around them feel weird! It's like, control yourselves!

Do.

I've been married to my wife for 31 years and I still grab her and give her a hug in the grocery store. We never part without a kiss and an "I love you." We occasionally get dirty look but the way we see it, anyone who has a problem with our love is just jealous.

Hand holding yes.
Hugs, in coming and going.
Quick peck, sure no biggy.
French kissing...maybe at an airport otherwise no.
Anything beyond that, get a room.

I agree with the first answer: Moderately.

Not too much, only a little.
