awww, chinchillas are great! well, we got one of ours at PetSmart, we've had him for over 2 years. we got another one from a small independent petstore in Gatlinburg, TN, she's so cute. They just had a baby, she had her 1 month birthday yesterday!
they are friendly if they get plenty of attention. true that you cant just let them run loose, but who would want to. they need supervised playtime everyday.
and for the girl who hates chinnies, they are great pets if you take care of them properly!!!!!!!!!!!

animal rescue/rehoming centres, try the rspca. pet shops are the WORST places to get any animals from.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DONT GET ONE!!!! They eat your walls, they poo everywhere....they are unfriendly. What on earth do you want a dirty animal like that for ...just because they look soft and cuddly? ugh! Seven day wonder!!!!!
