If so, why are they stuck being ghosts in this life and for how long? What are they trying to accomplish by being ghosts? Are they trapped?

Ghosts are entertainment for the campfire, or a great way to make a good movie.

There is no verifiable evidence anywhere for ghosts, so there are no real ghosts.

My favorite ghost movie is 'The Sixth Sense' because of all the wonderful scenes of my beloved native city, Philadelphia. When you watch that movie, the sculptures, the row houses, the architecture, even the bus system is lovingly and accurately depicted by the director, M. Night Shamalayan. He sees that town the same way I do.

I believe there are evil spirits that manifest themselves as ghosts and pretend to be ghosts.

But I also believe in ghosts. Some places have memory, especially old houses. These places seem to retain a piece of the former inhabitant. Not usually for good or evil, and not strongly, but there's just something about the place. Sometimes you'll see something out of the corner of your eye, and turn but nothing's there. That's when it's just ghosts in my opinion.

When it's more, it tends to be evil spirits. Sometimes the evil spirits pull off of the "ghosts" and manifest as the ghosts though. I've seen this happen before.

Yes ghosts do exist. Dont think of them as ghosts but more of the spirit or essence of the person that has passed on to the other side. I think they have unfinished bussiness in this world and they are trying to get the living to help them with it. Or perhaps to watch over loved ones.

Ever heard of "lost souls"??? These are/were people who are lost...I think heaven leaves 'em here to suffer a little while longer, and hell...aint' caught up with 'em yet. Some souls/ghost/haints refuse to "move on" or are choose to stay behind because of some unfinished business. I read somewhere once that "ghosts" or "spirits" are often deferred to as demons...because they have prescience and possess supernatural powers.

I dont know what they are doing here, but i do know they exist. I have seen a few in my lifetime to be able to tell you this. Some of them need help with something and once they find someone to help them they find a way out.
If you are being disturbed by a presence just light a white candle and pour a glass of water and leave them there (dont leave candle unattended...obviously). That should help.

Yes ghosts exist...the most popular theory about why they are here is unfinished business (for instance they may be waiting for a lover to return from a trip) or they don't realize they're dead.

Hmmm this is not scientifically proven yet, but, ghost may be real. Its just like asking whats the deal with Ouija boards, can they really move on its own or is someone moving it?
