Wow where to start, I went there for the first time in June. First off we didn't have but 4 days there, which is soooo not long enough. I hope you have plenty of time to explore. I would deff. go to Fremont Street in the downtown part of Las Vegas at night, its incredible. The Stratosphere, the malls, go thru the hotels just to see how big and what they have there. The MGM has clubs in there. Be prepared if you decide to walk the strip that it is a lot longer and further than it looks, and especially if you have been drinking, lol I suggest wearing tennis shoes, and I would walk it in the evening when its cooler. I would go to some of the free shows too, like at Ceasers Palace, and Treasure Island. And one more thing drink plenty of water. Take it with you cuz if you decided to buy it in a shop its about $3.00 for a bottled water. Hope this helps!!! And remember...."What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas"

Just bought a house in Las Vegas and the best I can say is decide what you're looking for and then set it up online. If you're looking to gamble, the slots at the Downtown casinos are better than the ones on the strip. If you're looking for nightlife, the Palms (Ghost Bar), Club Rio (Rio), Krave (Desert Passage at Aladdin), Gypsy (Paradise Road), Tangerine (Treasure Island), The Beach, Tao (Venetian are some of the best places. You might even run into some celebreties. Hit Margaritaville on the strip for some awesome Nacho's and drinks/music/dancing after you get the munchies.
Boulder Highway is off the strip and you can get some good deals in that area....checkout Sam's Town Casino for a great buffet for under $10 and they have some awesome bars and has Mystic Falls Indoor Park with some real nice atmosphere for romantics. Main Street buffet is another awesome deal at less than $8 and plenty to choose from. Ambience isn't the best at Sahara, but their buffet is a great deal as well.
Check out the link below, you can browse by how others rate Las Vegas. From buffets to hotels.

I've lived in Vegas for 17 yrs and just about seen every show out there. It all depends on what you like. Penn & Teller are great. Its about $100 a ticket. That's pretty much the minumum to see an actual decent show out here. Anything less than that you will know its crap. If you like the whole broadway thing, the Phantom of the Opera is excellent. I just saw that last month when it opened and I was blown away. Don't care much for broadway, but the perotechnics were awesome, they blew a lot of **** up on stage! Also, Blue Man Group is awesome, you can never go wrong with Blue Man. I used to work in their theater when they were at Luxor, they kick ***! Lance Burton is pretty cool, but Penn & teller are way better. Other things you should be sure to check out is the Mandalay Shark Reef (Mandalay Bay), Walk the deck on the Stratosphere, and if your into go-karts, Here is a little Vegas secret that us Vegans like to keep to ourselves. This place called Fast Lap. They are these awesome go-karts that go about 40 miles an hour in an indoor warehouse. Its about $25, but it is SO fun! You get out and your whole body is weak! All the greats go there, the Andretti's, Jimmy Vasslar, all the Supercross guys! It is so crazy! It's the best when you have a group of people with you, the competion gets rough! Also, if you've never seen it, It is worth checking out. The Bellagio water show. Especially if you have your significant other with you, It's very romantic. It's a little played out to me, but it is important to see it up close once in your life. Definatley go to Fremont Street, and check out the Fremont Street Experience. If you come on the right weekend they have free concerts done there. The killers did a suprise show down there a few weeks ago. All this is stuff you can do if your 21 and under.
There are some under 21 clubs in vegas, look for Seven night club and there is a new one I am not sure of the name though. Good luck, I hope you have a crazy time in our city! (Most people do!)

I've lived in Vegas for about 20 years, now. The short answer to your question is, "It depends on what you like - and at what degree of niceness/naughtiness." If you ask something more specific, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction. Vegas is a world of it's own, unlike no other. The options of what to do are pretty vast - good or bad, from the most wholesome to the most decadent. Some of it great, some of it not worth the price even if it's free. A friend of mine once put it perfectly, saying, "Here, you can get away with ANYTHING - as long as you have the cash to cover your [butt]."

I'm going to Vegas next week! I'm from the East Coast so just being in the desert is awesome! Definitely ride the free-fall ride on top of the Stratosphere at 2am!!! Eat at the Eiffel Tower restaurant while watching the Bellagio Fountains...hail a limo and ride up and down the strip with chamagne...
You don't have to gambel to have fun...there's even an art gallery at the Wynn and Bellagio with Monets.

Try to go see as many shows that you can. They are a little pricy but well worth the money, they are incredible. My most favorite hotel is Harrah's lots of fun. If you do go there make sure you go to the carnival court. Just outside in between Harrah's and The Imperial Palace. A great time. You will not regret that you went there. They have the best bartenders there, whatever you do, do not talk on your phone at the bar.

Yippeee!!! I love Vegas, just head out your door and walk the streets. Check out all the hotels on the strip, each one has a different theme. At night go to the end and watch the light show. I prefer to catch a nap during the day, and walk at night (cooler also) Taxi cabs are the way to go, or if you have a car, pay to have it parked

Someone else already said it, walk the strip. You can spend an entire day just going from one end to the other, seeing the sights.
Go downtown for the light show. They have covered two blocks of downtown and run a really cool laser show on it at night. You can get there by bus for a few dollars.

My brother just went a month ago, and he's not a gambler, but he said there's lots to see and do. Plenty of shopping if that's your thing, plenty of shows (but they are expensive and don't even think about going to see Celine Dion unless you get your tickets in advance), a bunch of golf courses, roller coasters here and there, the list goes on and on. He liked checking out the different casinos, just to see their themed designs. Oh, all kinds of great places to eat too -- but it's not as cheap as it once was. Of course, since he is a Trekkie, he did the Star Trek Experience at the MGM and said it was quite cool.

It depends on what you like. the amusement park in circus Circus is fun as well as the rides on top of the Stratosphere. Take the bus up and down the strip and just go wherever looks fun. Be sure to see the Freemont street experience at night. Margaritaville makes AWESOME drinks. The Gondolla ride at the Venetian is nice, as well as the night club there. (Tao).
