Unfortunately for you, you are not the first person to think of this. about 1500 years ago, they were indeed called sandless when Mr. Sandal made the same astute observation. So, they renamed the sandals in honor of his genius.

they aren't called "sand-less" it's sandals...being an open shoe, I'd think the name could've come from the fact that you CAN easily get sand in them...lol!
