American male Football tradition is still very young, too young to have produced an outstanding player. The US has had good goal keepers I think Tony Meola could be the best US Male Football player of all time. Landon Donovan is alright but if you compare it with other players worldwide is pretty average. Freddy Adu looks like a promising player but he is still too young to tell.
Americans really excel on Women Football and I have to agree that Mia Hamm is the best American Football player of all time.

I would say most would agree that Tab Ramos is probably the best modern day Footballer the US has produced, however you can make the arguement that our strongest internationals would be at the goalkeeping position in which case, Kasey Keller and Brad Freidel would have to be considered.
Throughout history you would probably have to include Bert Patenaude, and Billy Gonsalves. At their time they were a world class striking partenership (though often teams had 5 strikers) and helped the U.S. to their best ever finish in a world cup in 1930 earning 3rd place.

Yeah agree with the others about Mia Hamm.
Other than maybe Brad Friedel or Kasey Keller not too many of the other US footballers really stand out.

roy wegerly was decent for the sky blues and deserves to be counted with the best us players ever because no us player has ever been really good alexi lalas was a good center half also brad frieldel is an underrated keeper

Pele isn't american. he did play in america for a couple years, but he is brazilian. (that is for the person above)
i have no idea who the best american player is...maybe landon donovan? and freddie adu is awesome too. i also like taylor twellman.
