So they can better hear their predators, and because they're CUTE! I'm not sure, but they may also use them to help regulate their temperaturea bit, even though they're warm-blooded.

They have large ears because that is how they cool themselves.

If you look at their ears you will see lots of veins running through them close to the surface. These let their ears act as a radiator for them. Rabbits cant sweet so this helps cool them off.

I raise the breed with the largest ears English Lops. I have one boy that has 25 inch ears from tip to tip.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Animals which stay in warm climates, which contain elephants, frequently have enormous ears for the comparable reason, whilst animals that stay in chillier climates tend to have smaller ears. desolate tract foxes have whopping great ears while in comparison with their eu cousins.

Bunnys don't really have a way to fight their predators so they have to hear them from a long way off to escape. Since their ears are so big they can catch more soundwaves, which is the outer ears' job.

Because they don't have any real way of protecting themselves. So when a predator comes to devour them the most they can do is hear them before they get to close and run away.
