my sister sometimes sends me emails which have pps files attatched. i recieve them as message5.txt and just cannot open them. how can i resolve this as it is sooooooo annoying ?

i can veiw all other pps files i get sent from a friend. even text emails arrive as messag5.txt and they are just 100s of letters strung together. it is only with my sisters emails i have this problem.

.pps files are PowerPoint files (it's short for PowerPoint Slideshow), mavis c. To open them you need to have PowerPoint installed on your computer. It's part of the Microsoft Office Suite.
The first link, below is where you can search what program is needed to open which file extension.
The second link is a free .pps file viewer from Microsoft.

I've seen this problem before - its due to a bug in the release version of Outlook. To solve this ask your sister to microsoft windows/office update and download the latest bug fixes for Outlook and the problem will go away. Honest.
