I make my christmas gifts and call everyone I know it sounds cheap but making takes time and effort and I love actual communication.

I always make my Christmas cards to give to work colleagues and I add something "christmasy" to go inside the card eg: a chocolate coin, chocolate lolly pop or even a metallic large balloon (not blown up of course).
I try and make cards to send to other friends and relatives as well but don't always have enough time (it is quite time consuming) also I make some of my Christmas presents... simple jewellery, simple glass painted items and even simpler knitted scarves.
I don't save any money at all making my own cards but people really appreciate something hand made and when you are finished it does feel quite satisfying!
What are your cards like?

many times purchase some charity enjoying cards - however ones the place the money surely to the charity fairly than 0.1p or some thing. selfmade enjoying cards do practice greater attempt however. i think of Mums continually like them, at domicile my Mum continually places up the enjoying cards that I made in toddler and junior college each and each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (as a ornament rather). the superb one had a mechanism with a wheel which develop into became around and a smiling Father Christmas popped out of the chimney (the image on the front of the cardboard develop right into a house/window with front room scene). Very thrilling i presumed!

For people I love or who are special to me, I usually buy top-quality $$$ cards and add my own touches (glue on little hearts or stars or sparkles or photos) and write a special message inside or a poem, or make the cards myself using different "odd" craft papers to make them look special.
For people I only like or feel obligated to send a card to, I buy inexpensive $ cards and don't add anything but my name.

buy in mass quantities at the end of the holidays to get ready for next year. works better and is less time consuming. i have a house to maintain, work, a 5 yr old, a family to run, etc. and i don't have time to sit around and write personal christmas cards to everyone on my list.

I make them! I love art and love giving people something special made from only me, especially for a time like Christmas or even birthdays. I even make decorations of my own for Halloween! I don't know, it's just fun for me. I appreciate very much and think I always will! : )
