I've done it with no problem. Because you are going to cover it with latex afterward, it should work fine for you too.

I have used 2 different primers on the same wall before - I did not physically mix the 2 together. It turned out just fine - as long as both primer's are white or the same color it is not a problem.

i'm married to a painter and we own a company custom colors by rob peterson. just thought i'd let you know i actually know what i'm talking about.
yes, you can use a different brand of primer, you can actually use whatever kind of eggshell color you may happen to have in the garage as primer. but just makesure if it's a different brand, it may say on the paint can the same color as what you were using, i'd use a brush and paint a smallspace in a closet or somewhere no one would notice, when it dry's if it looks the same then your good to go!!
even if it's a hair off, depending what color your painting over it, as long as it covers (ususally painting the room twice,them your good)!!!!

unless the primer is darker then don't worry about it.if it's darker use 2 coats of paint.

Provided they are similar in composition,i.e. latex with latex or oil based with oil based.
