I asked this once before and only had a few "smarty pants" answers....while the skillet is hot and we are basking in the defeat of the American team at the Championships.....I ask again....what do you think of my question now?...how many would we win before they ask that the team be broken up!!!

If you're suggesting a world All-Star team, of course they would be competitive against any single NBA team. That's taking the very best 5 players out of 6 billion people and putting them up against teams comprised of mainly Americans, who have to share talent amongst each other. This exercise wouldn't prove anything.

Dang, Pablo really knocked that one down. I think she's talking about an all world against an all american though. The Americans have been losing because they never have a true leader on the court. Once you have "Tri-captains," you're gonna have problems. Come Olympics 2008, if Kobe plays for the US, there would be no chances for any other team to pull a win off!

I think that the USA would crush the rest of the world in an All-Star-type game. In an All-Star game, individual talent, speed, and power matter the most. However, basketball is a team game, and that is why Team USA got it's butt kicked by Greece. Ball movement, team defense, and clutch play are the most important traits of a sucessful team, and the Euros are, quite simply, better than we are in that aspect.

many rings obviously..they wouldn't do that.
best in world would be too much for an NBA team.
however, it would be fun to see, say in an ALL STAR WKND event, to have international best (only ones already in NBA) vs. USA best for entertainment value.
Intl. starting would go something like: Genobli, Parker, Yao, Norwiski, Gasol, etc...
