My 7 month old has been doing that for a few months too. I think it's a normal thing that a lot of babies do. I haven't been convinced that he's been in pain-- I think it's just a bad dream or something. He's started waking up a lot lately because he's teething. So, I figure that if he's crying in his sleep he's fine--unless he wakes up. Then he's in pain.

Well, my son did the same thing; he still does and he's 18 months old. I took him to the doctor just to make sure everything was alright with him and it was. Babies dream too, he could be have a bad dream, it happens.

It could be night terrors. When I was a baby, I would scream and cry and kick and scratch in my sleep, and no one could wake me up, and I didn't ever remember it afterwards. This could just be a mild case. I wouldn't be worried, babies cry all the time, especially in bed.

when my son does this I caress his head and whisper "Mommy's here" and i kiss his cheek, i keep doing that untill he seems to calm down , sometimes he even smilesin his sleep after I do it. His pediatrician says its normal , but if he starts scratching and hitting to let her know, it might be night tremors ( which is not a big concern ) dont worry Im sure its just the nightmares.

My son does this also & I thought he was having nightmares. I asked a question a little while back (check my questions by clicking on my profile) & some of those answers may help you. It says something like Nightmares is it possible?

Babies have belly aches all the time. Or he could be having scary dreams. This is very normal.
