how can i edit videos that i downloaded from limewire like cut out parts of them?

If you have Windows XP, use Movie Maker
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Movie Maker
Import the video into you collection
Drag it down to the timeline
Cut it however you want
Make a Movie to save the resulting file
(Use a new name if you do not want to delete the original)
