It's not my life that I'm talking about. But it's real story. One of my mother's colleagues is now 55 years old had this problem. Her first period was when she was 16 years old, she had it every month for one year and then it stopped and it started again at 30 years old, but after long medication from her doctor. She got married and had a baby boy, too and after giving birth the period was stopping and starting again with long breaks in between.

Well I had no period for 10 years of my life- from the time I was 18 until I was 28. My husband and I decided to have a child. I was given provera to jump start my cycle twice with no result. I was then put on the birth control pill for 6 months. No period. That was a year ago. The happy ending is, that 5 months ago I learned I am pregnant. And 3 months ago, I learned I am having twins. No fertility testing or drugs involved. Good luck!

I stopped getting my period when I was in 11th grade. Prior to that, I had trouble getting my period, so I told my mom. My mom took me to see a doctor and the doctor gave me some pills to take to force my period to come out. It was only a temporary thing. I also saw a chinese herbalist doctor where he kept prescribing me chinese herbs to take orally. I've wasted hundreds of dollars and my period never came. The chinese doctor kept telling me to continue taking the herbs until it comes. Around my second year in college, my friend told me that she had the same problem, so she started taking birth control pills to regulate her period. Therefore, I talked to another doctor about prescribing birth control pills for me to take. As soon as I started taking them, my period started to come and it came every 28 days. I took the pills for over 5 years. I never told my mom that I was on the pill. My family is too traditionalized and stubborn. I got married during the third year of taking the pills. I didn't stop taking the pills until 2 years ago. My period became regular even after I stopped taking the pill. Now, I'm currently 8 months pregnant with my first child.

I have gone a year w/ out getting a period. According to doctors, this is not good because you can develop cancer of the uterus. You may have PCOS like I do. I've taken Clomid & Metformin and was not able to conceive. All of a sudden, out of the blue, I'm pregnant. It's been a few months since I've taken any of these medications. See your doctor and have faith. Things happen when you least expect them to.

I haven't had my period for 2 years and maybe more. I didn't start my period until late in my teens and it wasn't regular. I would get it like every two or three months. And then I got pregnant at 18. And now I am breast feeding which also prevents you from having a period.

i never really had a period either, but i never took pills to help boost them. However, I did concieve my son in august 2004. there are some hormonal pills you can take to increase your chances of conception. Also, you can change you diet. If that fails consult a doctor immediately.

Why are you asking these questions online? If you've not had periods for years, you should of seen your gynocologist about that. He or she would of prescribed a pill for this treatment. You don't mess with your body. Go chat to your GP or your Gynea, and ask these questions to somebody who can help you. Everybody is different - don't think that how it worked for somebody else, is how it's going to work for you.

My sister did. She had a tough time holding her children for full term, however.
Both babies were 7 weeks early and she had a full hysterectomy at 34 after the 2nd birth.
