Its hard because it represents an unwanted/unexpected change. And change for many is scary. In your marriage one becomes secure and complacent with the other. The two of you get to know each others life so well you become one united together in the eyes of God. You become too comfortable in knowing the other will always be there and there for you. You figure this is supposed to be this way for life. Then out of the blue, things become too comfortable, taken for granted, and the marriage is too predictable and stale so one wants out and disrupts the whole family picture. The future you took for granted is no longer to be and an unforeseen future is about to become a reality where you will be alone. Its scary and your not sure where to go or what to do. Its a change and racks at every emotion you have. Youre losing your security blanket, so to speak and it hurts. Change is never easy and most would never do it if given the chance but life isnt always fair so it demands changes to grow. Its actually the human brain with its ability to think and its wild imagination, that comes up with countless probabilities why the change occurs and causes mass confusion within and thats why life with its many changes is so hard. when our minds become so preoccupied witheverything, we tend to lose focus on the bad things like divorce and death, and is why time heals.

There is a sense of failure and it marks then end of love in that relationship.. Even when the divorce is obviously for the best .. Divorce is the death of a relationship no matter how bad, when going through divorce people go through the same emotions one goes through when dealing with death..

Because you suffer the death of an imagined future. When you marry you have a hope that it will last forever and in your heart and mind you plan for it to be there always. When the marriage ends that dream ends and it's like having someone close to you die. You do emotionally mourn a divorce just like a death.

because God hates divorce~ the Bible gives two conditions for divorce;adultery or death, and even then, Jesus says that "we can do all things through Him", including restore your marriage and show you how to find a renewed love for your spouse. Its not God's plan than any should divorce....thats why its hard.

Because a divorce means the death of a marriage. It has to be handled like any other death, with the whole grieving process.

You have to go through the mourning stage. It is,after all, the death of the marriage. It gets easier.
