I am currently enrolled in a class which requires us to create a thematic unit of the area in which we wish to teach after graduation. We need to make a bulletin board to go along with our unit, but I am fresh out of ideas. I have been searching the web and I haven't come across anything. I am also inbetween three different ideas for my unit - WWII, The Civil War, or Branches of Government. So I am asking for ideas on those three units for bulletin board ideas, this also includes clipart, and things I can print out.

Thanks so much.

Branches of Government would probably be the simplest to organize, because you split the board into 3 parts, one for each branch.
The government has many sites with many pictures and ideas to download.

I would suggest picking the idea for your unit first. That's probably going to be the more challenging of the two assignments. Once you've done that, I would suggest thinking of a bulletin board idea that would allow you to post the students' work. It should also correspond to maybe a project in your unit plan. I teach in high school, and even high school students love to see their work up on a bulletin board.

If you choose either of the wars, you could create a timeline for the war. If you are doing branches of gov't, you could also use an actual tree and put ideas on all different tree branches.

branches of government
as a retired teacher, i think this subject is more current and might be more interesting for your students.......
you could start with the early stages of our government and move on to the current branches and let the students voice their opinions on how sucessfull we have become over the years
