No it means you are copying it to your computer. I'm guessing you are using Windows Media. Just rip the music and then burn it.

it means to compress it. Music on CD's is not compressed and uses up a lot of space, typically 700MB for one hour of music. This wouldn't work too well with MP3 players so people have come up with compression algorithms to save space. This is done at the expense of some of the finer harmonics in the music but to most people and for most music it does not matter.

It's called "rip" because, in a sense, it is a violent treatment and the end product is, in a sense, inferior.

This being said, all photos taken with most digital cameras are compressed within the camera (to the JPEG format) and no one talks about cameras "ripping" shots. But if you do high-end photography, the effects of the compression can be seen, and professional photographers work with "raw" (ie uncompressed) photo files, which are way larger but purer.

yes It just means to copy from another cd (probably an original)
