I believe Republicans tend to prefer their own security and happiness and tend to look backward for inspiration more often than forward. This means when hard facts that will require drastic change come into being, they'll prefer to question the validity and make excuses for behavior rather than adopting a new policy. If children are starving they'd rather remember churches giving food to the needy, and not notice churches are overwhelmed by the numbers of the needy. They look at dirty water and global warming and see that a this will require an enormous cultural shift for most people to combat, and decide it's better to pretend the problems don't exist then to threaten complacent voters with reality. I think if there was a quick, easy, and cheap way to solve hunger and the planetary crisis, Republicans would jump on the bandwagon and indeed lead the fight.

And by Republicans I mean conservatives, who comprise most Republicans and Democrats. There are exceptions in both parties, but both parties are by and large to enormously conservative in policy and doctrine there's virtually no difference, except perhaps in their reaction to our current administration.

No, no political party wants anyone to starve. The republican party believes the way to build a strong economy is to have a strong economic base provided by corporations. I live in California -- a state claiming every day to be "green thinking" while creating the most green house gases. People are quick to blame corporations and political parties for their woes. but they won't stop filling their SUV's with gasoline from those dirty old oil companies and pumping carbon particles into the air.

Children are starving around the world...did the Republicans get voted in there?

No, of course not. But some of them are so involved with amassing as much money as they can and holding onto it, that they are oblivious to or uncaring about some of the consequences.

Oh, yes, most definitely - the Republicans stand for everything evil and immoral in our world today and the Weak Sisters stand for everything huggy-wuggy in our world today!

Now, given those facts - who do you think are the good guys and who do you think are the bad guys?

Where do you people come up with these ideas? Please read something outside the liberal media and websites.

Republicans want people to earn what they get. It's the Democratic programs like welfare that keep children in poverty and living dangerous neighborhoods.
