Well, this seems like a thoughtful question, let's hope you get some more answers.
Unfortunately, the same principles are in play here that are at work in the rest of the media market. People don't get noticed for being insightful or intelligent. The most response comes to the individuals who are over the edge, reactionary, outrageous and close to irrational. I would hypothesize that this is because most people don't really want to think, they just want to react. Logical, thoughtful, reasonable discussion doesn't seem to have the "glamor" of a knock down drag out argument, or should I just say shouting match. Even the term argument implies that you have at least one good point to make.
I think the liberal vs conservative rhetoric that fills a lot of this space is an example. Personally, I don't want to be labeled with either of those labels. I think they are both just imaginary caricatures of attitudes. I want to be part of the new group called thinkers. I try to evaluate each situation or issue on its merits rather than a predetermined position. I try to listen to all points of view involved before making a decision and I try to be as fair as I can to everyone involved. It's much easier to make everything black or white, yes or no, up or down, but that isn't how most of life is and if you really start looking into most problems, simple solutions won't cut it. But many people don't want to have to do the work to understand the problem, that is of course until they are the victim of the problem or decision. Zero tolerance is easy until the ball falls in your court, then people "just have to understand there were special circumstances."
Whether you agree with me or not, I hope this answer shows the kind of thoughtful response you are looking for. I put a lot of thought into it.

Because typically intelligent questions will require more time and thought to answer whereas stupid questions people can just come up with any moronic off the cuff answer. Remember, most are lazy and don't want to put too much effort and thought into something, especially when there's really no reward for their effort.

Simple logic...intelligent questions-needs intelligent answers...stupid questions-stupid answers...stupid people outnumbers intelligent people, thus....more stupid answers to stupid questions, does it make sense. Personally, I will not attack intelligent questions if im not 100% sure of the answer...esp if the question requires specific answer. Hope that makes sense to you. Don't get frustrated, 2 answers to an intelligent question...better than nothing. Hope it will not stop u from asking intelligent questions, though. YA is a good morning brain calisthenics.....hooray.

Because most of the people answering questions here don't have anything intelligent to say.

I have noticed that as well. I asked a question I really needed an answer to and got 2 responses.

A lot of shallow, mindless people make up this site. They don't want to think about anthing too complex, or too deep. So they simply bypass your question in an effort to not use their brain.. Sucks, but these types of people also make up most of America which is what's really scary.

Intelligent questions require actual thought, while the stupid questions just require drivel. I have also noticed it.

Benghazi grew to become right into a "specific challenge", not a consulate and the CIA Annex grew to become into in a separate construction approximately 2km away. no person has tried to disguise that up. i've got generic that on account that final September.
