I want to start a website and create my own computer wallpaper using my own photographs I have taken. Is that a good idea? I have gotten many compliments on my photography and want to put some of my pictures to good use :-)
Also, does anyone know where I could sign up for a free website? Thanks so much.

If you are willing to learn HTML I would suggest ATSPACE.COM. You can create a website for FREE up to 50MBs in size. I have two websites through them and the uptime is great. NO ADS, NO BANNERS. You'll need an ftp program to upload your stuff. There's a good free one for personal use called "FTP Explorer". Of course you'll either need to learn HTML or use one of the WYSIWYG programs like FrontPage or DreamWeaver to actually design your site. e-mail me if you need some help...
If you want your own domain and have it hosted, I suggest ReadyHosting. You get 1GB of space unlimted e-mail accounts, FTP access and domain name registration all for $99 a year.

Freewebs allows you to host your own pictures (FOR FREE!) and provides a lot of space and bandwith- which you will need for your photos. There's no advertisment and it's really easy for you to maintain.
I'd recommend more, but really I think that's your best option~ good luck and email me (tamsenf@yahoo.com) your website link. I'd love to have some great photography as my desktop!

If you add text on your wallpapers you will improve your product.
Pl. see seome wallpapers on love, inspiration etc. on http://www.screene.com to find out what I am saying.
For making a wallpaper site you would be better off with paid space.
