Hi Dave. Let's Examine Shall We?
Fergie = Pop
My Chemical Romance = Punk Rock
Justin Timberlake = Pop
The Raconteurs = Rock
Beyonce = Pop
T.I = Rap
Lou Reed & Raconteurs = Rock
Shakira & Wyclef Jean = Pop / Rap
Ludacris and Pharrell = Rap
The Raconteurs = Rock
Christina Aguilera = Pop (ballad)
Ok Go = Alt. Rock
Panic at The Disco =Punk Rock
The Killers =Rock
So we have:
Pop= 5 Times
Rock (alt, hard, punk)= 7 Times
Rap=3 Times
**NOTE**, I only put the The Raconteurs 3 times even thought they performed 5 times and frankly blew. If you count them only once that's still 5 times for rock.
No offense, but you should try and catch a rerun of the VMA's when your less tired or drunk, so you can pay more attention.
Also, again, no offense ment, but don't be so closed minded man. You know how much of life will pass you by. Half of the performance in all genre's sucked last night. Music is Music and their are good bands/performances and sh*ty bands/performances in every genre. I am a music lover and have seen in concert from Ludacris to Nine Inch Nail. I saw Lenny/kravitz & Areosmith a few months ago, Pharell three weeks ago, I will see the Peppers at the forum tonight, and when Justin TImberlake goes on Tour next year I'll catch that too.
You need to open up your senses to all of the sights and sounds life has to offer and experience it all...You'll live better and get laid more...Truth...and before you say it, cause your thinking it (every guy does), yes I'm sure you think your a stud with a big D*ck who gets alot of kitty, but, unless your a pornstar, it's all in your head and your personal world, cause you can't compare yourself to me.
On a positive note, If you like punk and metal, it sounds like you live in SO Cal so may I suggest the KROQ INLAND INVASION on the 23rd which features: Buck Cheery, Rise Against, Avenge Sevenfold, Muse, Papa Roach, 30 Seconds to Mars, Alice in Chain, and Gunz n Roses. I myself will be there, orch 3 center, so if you are planning on going shot me an email and we can meet up grab a beer and enjoy the sounds of 50,000 watts of rock...

Most people do not like the kind of music we do.
While many of us who are disappointed with the fact that they didn't play metal, punk, or even any good emo (which i dislike), the main audience for a show such as the VMAs is the audience that listens to pop, rap...and other wastes of time such as that.
It seems to me like most metal, techno, and punk has more of an underground following.
Besides, those that choose the nominees for these shows choose based upon the following:
1. Their own personal likes.
2. What is most requested on the most popular radio stations?
Basically....it's all about ratings.

they only had like 1 or 2 more rap performances then punk and metal and stuff

AGREE!!!! I was upset and annoyed that the VMA's mostly showed rap I hate rap with a passion .I hate pop also.I know I wished more punk bands and metal performed.I mean they should show more rock .

im not saying this because i dont like rock, but a survey says rap performances get more publicity, and its better music =) + they had that wack *** band playing the whole show. they were annoying

WAT??!! i dont know wat yall talking about, but there were a lot of rock groups who played last night. the only blacks that perforemd were beyonce, ti/young dro, and justin/timberland and maybe another one but i dont remember...if yall wanna get all technical, how come only white folk won the awards??????2006 VMA'S SUCKED @$$!!!!
