A participant invited users to use Google to search "great president". I did. The popular search engine lists the most prominent articles about the current "president" of the United States. Is anyone actually surprised at this?

Whats really funny is if you type in "failure" in the google search engine..look who is the number one topic.

No, I'm not surprised that somebody doesn't know much about Google (or search engines in general). They should have entered "great presidents," - using the plural - and with the term enclosed in quotation marks. Try that and you'll get the listings you're looking for.

Google employees do not pick what links come up in a search. That's an automated procedure, based on many factors.

One of the more important factors is the number of other websites that link to the target site, and how they describe the link.

Blaming Google either way is like blaming the weather man for currently telling you that it's raining out, because he looked out the window and saw rain.

the greatest American President .
George Washington was in my view .
But G.W. B. does not go sniffing round the skirts of White House interns .

A Google search of "great president" brings up Bush?? Must be some kind of right wing conspiracy.

I am not surprised.wait until (if)he gets out of office THEN see what it says about him. Voltaire great name,I wish more people would read and think...

And sure Bush would pop up as one of them, because there are a lot of rightwing freaks out there who believed this and posted lots of blogs and stories to that affect. punch in ANY discriptive word and the results will have opinions from one end to the other. this is pointless.
