that's why you should never install bundled software. start by uninstalling the whole yahoo thing that installed Norton Do a hard boot (turn OFF computer, not just restart) and if it's gone, then get ONLY the yahoo toolbar if you want it.

Norton, Panda and other such "free" "trial" crap hide very well in your computer and most often is almost impossible to uninstall. So one effective way to get rid of it is deleting files, folders and registry entries but that is very tricky. don't try it if you're not sure.

Last time I did an uninstall of a Panda thing for a friend I spent about 40 minutes deleting stuff manually. I just couldn't do it any other way, because my friend had already tried to do it on her own.

If there is no uninstall facility click the start button (bottom left hand corner) and then highlight "Programmes". Go to the Norton folder and check if a sub menu has an uninstall menu item. If not go to the control panel and select add programmes. Scroll down and highlight the Norton programme and click uninstall.
If all this fails go to the Norton website (it may go under the name Symantec) and there may be a uninstall facility there

It's hidden! You get the same problem with MSN messenger. Go to this site and it gives you instructions to find the config file. You have to delete the word HIDE from one of the lines. You can probably guess which one when you look at it. I removed HIDE from a few programs while I was there! I hate that crap!

Click on search on your desktop & print Norton in the files. When you have the list right click on every one & choose delete until they are all gone. It worked for me

If it doesn't show and if it doesn't have an uninstall option, then simply delete its installation folder.
