She wants to come home for 2 four day weekends BEFORE Christmas Break. I cannot do a 12 hours roundtrip in a weekend-I'm old, and flying round trip is 348$ Does anyone know another way there and back for cheap?

Have you looked into a bus schedule? Can she ask around the school and see if there is anyone else from nearby that she can offer to pay for some of the gas if they drive?

Otherwise, I don't see an alternative. However, if she travels with others, please make sure she has a cell phone and calls you frequently on the trip. (it may only be 6 hours, but things can happen)

Good luck!

Hmm honestly if the cost is that expensive, I would tell your daughter to just be patient until Christmas break. Explain to her that in two weeks she will be home for an entire month.

IF that doesn't work I would suggest to her to take the greyhound bus. At Edinboro we have a greyhound bus that stops directly on our campus so maybe the school your daughter is at has the same thing.

Greyhound. Like so many other college students. She'll be fine. Put her on da bus.

Heh I have family in Schuylkill County - in Orwigsburg and Pottstown & Schuykill Haven.

The best thing is for your daughter to share a ride with a fellow student headed that way.
