it is absolutely safe. it can't hurt the baby because the baby is encapsulated inside the placenta and the uterus. no man's penis can reach up in there and poke the baby. it's just NOT possible.
i've heard from friends who have been pregnant that it was the best sex ever while they were pregnant.

I have heard so many different people ask that question and to be honest with you, If you really don't feel safe about it, wait and ask your doctor. The night before I delivered my first born, my husband and I had sex. As long as your doctor does NOT tell you otherwise, sex is 100% safe for any woman during pregnancy. If your concern is hurting the baby, the fact is- and if you think about it, it's all about common sense- there is a barrier between any penis and that baby. First, your cervix, then your mucus plug, then all the amniotic fluid in your belly on top of the sack that you carry the baby in. I'd say close to 4-6 inches of stuff that he would have to push through in order to hit that child; which in the end, is virtually impossible unless your membranes have ruptured. In which case you know you'd be in labor so sex is the last thing on your mind. Of course, if you see a bit of blood after or during intercourse, less than a teaspoon or so, that could simply mean you aggravated your cervix and you should lay off for a day or two. I did have that happen to me. If you are constantly bleeding, go to the hospital. Our doctor actually told me that sperm can actually help with the dilation and effacement process. So yes, sex is perfectly safe.

SEX!!!!!!! It’s probably what got you here in the first place, but yes, sex will change now that you’re pregnant and will continue to change when you’re parents. With a little creativity, though, you can still enjoy a healthy sex life — it may be even better than ever!
Oral sex: Oral sex is as safe as it is pleasurable throughout pregnancy as long as your partner doesn't blow any air into your vagina. (There's a theoretical risk that forcefully blown air could enter your bloodstream and cause an embolism, obstruct a blood vessel, and prove deadly to both you and your baby.) Oral stimulation of the penis is also safe during pregnancy, as is swallowing semen.
Anal sex: Anal sex is probably safe during pregnancy, but proceed to the back door with caution. First, it probably won't be comfortable if you have hemorrhoids, an occupational hazard of pregnancy; plus anal sex can make your hemorrhoids bleed. Second, you'll need to remember the same safety rules of anal sex whether you're pregnant or not: Never go from anal to vaginal sex without cleaning up first. Doing so may introduce harmful bacteria into your vaginal canal, setting you up for infection and risk to the baby.
Masturbation: Unless orgasm is off-limits because of a high-risk pregnancy or premature labor, masturbating during pregnancy is perfectly safe — and a great way to release all that tension you're feeling.
Vibrators or dildos: As long as your practitioner has okayed vaginal penetration (probably off-limits if you have incompetent cervix, placenta previa, preterm labor, or other conditions), dildos and vibrators are safe to use during pregnancy; after all, they're just mechanical versions of the real thing. But be sure anything you introduce into the vagina is clean before you use it and be careful not to penetrate the vagina too deeply with it.
Cheers to a pleasurable pregnancy!

Yes and no! Well even if it's not safe you should still have it because nine months without it is a long time and then when you have the baby you will never have time for it, so just do it!

Yes it is confusing, but as far as I know, it is perfectly safe to have sex when pregnant. I have 3 children, had sex during pregnancy and all my children are fine. The only thing is that when you start getting up in months, it may not feel comfortable anymore. So you use your discretion. Unless your doctor tells you that you cannot have sex during pregnancy due to medical reasons regarding your pregnancy, it is safe.
If you are unsure please check with your Dr. He can tell you best knowing your history.

it's safe, and it's actually good for you as you get close to birth. I'm not just running my mouth, our doctor told us it was ok. He did tell us to hold off for a few weeks when it looked like she was going to go early, but after that it was fine. The sperm actually helps you start contractions, so having sex right before birth can make it go faster.

It is absolutely safe--ask ur dr. and they will agree with how safe it is. THe only time u should not have sex is if ur pregnancy is high-risk or if ur dr. tells u that u shouldnt have sex other than that its very normal until the day u have ur baby.
My boyfriend was concerned about that too--until i took him to one of my appointments and he asked the dr. for himself-

It is safe (and suggested!) Only risk to the baby is to keep pressure off of him/her. Choose positions that are comfortable, and don't get too rambunctious.
