I am not too sure how long it has been since the surgery but you should be cautious about drinking. I had my gall bladder out about 10 years ago and alcohol did make me very sick a few times in the first 6 months after my surgery. You need to pay attention to what you are eating and drinking and how it feels. I am not a smoker and I have lost friends and family to cancer from smoking so you can well imagine that I would advise you not to smoke. Good luck.

Smoking & drinking can delay healing time and predispose you to secondary infections. So relax and may be it is a blessing that you can quit both smoking & drinking as too much drinking may be contributary to your having stones as alcohol turns into fats in your body!!

It is recommended that you don't do either for general health reasons. If you are taking pain medications DO NOT use alcohol.

I smoked but did not drink . Drinking might make you sick. If you just had it done I don't think you should drink. Might make you sick
