Not that I'm trying to put him down. He's done some great acting, I just don't know if he has what it takes to play the Joker

I think he's too young, and I don't think I've ever seen him act with a good accent to use as the Joker

I think out of all the actors up for this role Heath Ledger was the best suited. The Joker is around the same age as Batman in the comic series so I think it makes sense to cast Ledger because he and Bale are around the same age. The other person I knew of that was in running for this role was Robin Williams. If they cast him I would boycott this movie. I don't want them hiring comedians to play the roles of the villians and turn this series into a joke like Jim Carey did.

I must admit it seems weird, but I have faith in Christopher Nolan. And, if you're old enough, you'll remember the outrage that greeted the news that Michael Keaton was to play Bats in the first movie. He had the last laugh though didn't he? Reserve judgement until you've seen Heath Ledger's performance. He's a talented actor.

I'll join you.
Jack Nicholson is THE Joker in the Batman movies. No one else works.
And, after "brokeback mt", I am not paying to see Heath Ledger in ANYTHING.

not attempting to sound like a hard guy, yet with regard to the only time I cry is with the aid of death. I even tend to alter into extra pissed than disappointed over issues. i think i'm an particularly stereotypical male in that regard. Did Incubus of genuinely everybody rather in simple terms call somebody else a sociopath and a psychopath?

Just wait to see the performance before making a judgement. And, don't be so closed-minded as to not see the movie at all because he's not who you'd choose for the character - you may end up being pleasantly surprised! It's just big shoes (the role) to fill after Jack Nicholson!

Yes, A poor choice in my opinion...they went with a name that will help the box office and not the movie!! I think Mark Hamill would have been a great choice!!

Did you watched 10 things I hate about you, you wouldn't be able to pick an accent from him, and it was between him and Rachael Ray, so they picked him. Rachael is too busy with shows and magazines.
