After confirming that the bird flu virus was found in dead swans on the east coast of Scotland earlier this year I can only summise that the threat of bird flu breaking out has mysteriously gone away.

After all it just disappeared off our front pages as if it had never existed.

MAGIC or WHAT !

Your answer can be found at the Would Health organization website. It has definately NOT gone away. It is found in thousand of birds wild and industrial (poultry) thought Asia, Middle East and Europe and Africa. The transmission to humans has not been "sustained" which is the third criteria in a 3 step determination of a pandemic. It will happen.....Rest assure it would do all Americans well to educate ourselves on this pandemic to come.. I am in charge of our Emergency Response team at our medical facility in Charlotte. you can find more information at

I was thinking the exact same thing recently - it really is amazing! A few months ago, it was as though there was no other news than Bird Flu and lack of vaccinations, imminent deaths etc. Now its as though it never happened! Where did the unavoidable pandemic disappear to? Its like it disappeared over night when news about the World Cup began to appear! Very strange..... I think it has to be down to one of two things. Either its going to be a global killer and the government have stopped media coverage to avoid mass panic OR it really has gone away and there is nothing more to say on the matter.

The media does this all the time. One minute its this global catastrophe, the next thing you know its just gone and everyones forgotten. Its like. Oh a few hundred people have died, who cares whats next? Bird flu is just another flu, but it isnt for our species. I think people overeacted when they first heard about it and thats why it turned out like this. People were so overactive when it was there for the first week or two but then it gets boring and you lose the energy. I can not be bothered to fret about bird flu. Whatever comes, comes. Its life!

Simple... it has been moved out of public view. Gov'ts around the world do this all the time, they down-play things, give things less importance and, unfortunately, media only follows the lead. In the business that activity is related to sales. The next time a distraction is needed it'll be brought back out - and you'll be distracted by it rather than the real item they wish to not have you be aware of. Rest assured it is still here and it still mutates and grows! We "sheeple" are only told what is needed to be told and to what degree and by whom.

When migration season begins it will come back in the news, but the shortage of vacines are being down-played for now.

precise then, don't think the hype contained in the media. at first that's fowl flu, the stuff BIRDs get, it ought to get picked up by a human, yet provided that that human has very close touch with an affected fowl, ie a fowl farmer, duck breeder, despite. whether fowl flu have been to circulate over to human beings, merely utilising uncomplicated hygiene might in all probability rather help to kill the ailment off, merely in case you are able to desire to consistently, placed your supply up your mouth once you cough, or sneeze, then wash your hand, consistently wash your palms in case you have been to the bathroom, consistently wash your palms after touching any animal in any respect, inclusive of a human. i'm hoping it incredibly is helped.

it's as much of a threat as it always was, give it a few weeks, when autumn kicks in and people start getting colds I bet you it will sneak into the papers/TV again on slow news days. That's the media for unfortunately, a measured, controlled response you're not going to get these days.
