It is so easy to read because we read so fast that just the beginning and end of a word usually give it away......you eye sees all of the letters and you mind after seeing the word over and over in time just know where the letters are supposed to be and it puts them there for your mind to understand....the confusing part is when you eye tells you brain that its not spelled correctly and then you mind makes up the decision that what it though of is what it is meant to be written as...also another questioner did this last week but instead of switching letter around in the words....she switched the words around in a sentence...and for me, I found it very difficult to put together as a complete sentence.....blah blah blah....wow that is a really well thought out question while the answer in my head seems so clear, yet written down it does not seem to make much sense at all....well I hope you understood what I meant,.........

The eye sees what the mind knows. We see the first and last letter and our mind puts the rest of the word together. Interesting, That is one reason we have difficulty in proof- reading what we are familiar with.

1.) The words are close to their normal spelling, and the words themselves are in proper order.

2.) Most of the time, when this is presented, you're told up front that it's scrambled, which prepares you.

3.) Most of the words that are scrambled are pretty obvious as to what is meant, once you know it's scrambled English.

I heard it is because we read words as a whole, not each individual letter. It's also much harder to figure out one word by itself. I think we figure some of them out by the context.

It is very possible to read what you have written because you used simple words which are very easy to recognize. However, if you use technical terms, you would not only confuse us, you'll also confuse yourself.
