Simply put, just change the regulator, the gas valves, and the jets in the burner plates. However, I suggest you have this conversion done by a pro. You could end up grilling your house and family!

Very simply, but first you need to verify that your particular unit can be converted. Some units by their design can't be done. If it's brand new, you should take it back and spend the extra $$ for a natural gas one.
As for converting, you need to disconnect the existing hose to propane connection on the BBQ itself. If it's a pressed fitting hose, forget it, if it's threaded continue. The orifices can be replaced or just drilled out to the proper size. That is determined by the BTU rating of your BBQ.You will need a regulator to reduce from approximately 8" water column to 4.5 " w.c. Home depot at one time carried conversion kits, not sure if they still do. If your in southern california, the gas company used to do it. Again, not sure if they still do. I don't know if stores like BBQs Galore provide that service either.
I do know that after the La Prieta earthquake in northern california about 15 years ago, many people having hot food for a week or so were those with propane bottle fed BBQs. Something to keep in mind. Good luck.

If you know nothing about gas I wouldn't sugesst that you make any attempt to do this on your own. You could blow yourself and anybody else up. You have to have anural gas pipe that is acessabile to your grill location and the orafices on the grill need to be changed propane has a smaler orafice than natural gas. I would sugesst that you call your gas company and ask them if the can do it or if the can reccomend some one that can. Or look in the phone book under Gas piping.

A regulator. Propane is a plenty warmer gas so the hollow that comes out of a propane regulator is plenty smaller than the hollow in a organic gas regulator. you will discover them at domicile depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc... verify in bar-b-que section. in the journey that your funds is tight, acquire a used grill that has rusted contained in the direction of the backside and cannablize it. verify for leaks.

Go to a natural gas distributor and pick up a conversion kit. Perhaps Home Depot has them as well.
