Depends on how many slots you have available, power supply and drive bays.... Typically, motherboards with IDE interface have about 2... You can also connect USB enabled drives.... So, it really depends.

It depends upon 2 things. How many controllers you have on your motherboard and how many hard drives you have in your PC. If you have only 1 hard drive and have 2 controllers then you could feasibly slave 1 CD drive to your hard drive and put two more CD drives as master and slave on the second controller. You could also add at least one external CD drive via your USB port or serial port(s). But, why would you want to do that? You can have a DVD drive and a CD Burner and that should be enough, right?

Most computers have Two CD bays for internal CD ROM...However you can install an external one ,also

If your using IDE 4 (no CD drives though)
SATA 4 (and you can have 4 IDE with it too)
SCSI up to 7 (these are a little pricy though)
that's not including externals.
