I got my bellybutton pierced in 1999 and it took about 10 monts to heal completely. So basically I wouldn't even think of touching it until then. And by heal completely I mean no discharge, bleeding and come move freely w/o sticking. I've never had mine out for more then a few minutes but just from friends I think its starts closing (as in the you can still get it back in but might involve u to pierce through whatever has closed up...which should only be very minimal) w/in a couple days so a few hours should be ok.

6-8 weeks before you can change the ring, and about 4 months until you can take it out for some time and put it back in with a decreased chance of infection. Belly button piercings have a mind of their own, i know girls who have had them for years, change the ring and get horrible infections for whatever reason. If your belly button ring is fully healed a little kick won't do anything to it, if it isn't i would take it out completely and wait until after your swim season to get it re-pierced or re-opened. it is never a good idea to have a piercing you have to take in and out because of sports, etc. it has a higher risk of getting infected, and keloids.

the minimum is 2 to 3 months for full healing. my uncle owns a tattoo/piercing parlor. before you leave it out for a few hours wait up to 5 months even then be very careful, it doesn't take much for it to close up. it will be fully healed by then but still very possible for the piercing to close up.

You can take it out after six months but you should purchase a plastic spacer to put in it as it will start to heal up I believe it is a year before you can leave it for a while. Put the spacer in and then tape it all the way around your waist twice so the tape doesn't slip. My daughter plays rugby and this is what she had to do.

it actually relies upon on how its feeling now, if its sore identity go away it an afternoon yet while its wonderful purely a plaster or some activities tape to cover that's going to be wonderful, merely be a touch carefull. It shouldnt rip out except its been pierced incorrectly. in case you do boxing identity propose waiting for 2 or 3 days for the exterior to harden somewhat this might make it much less in all probability to bleed in case you do get punched contained in the stomache. desire i helped =] xxxx

Two months. I just got mine done July 29th. Im still waiting to take mine out and get a new one. You cant leave it out, you can replace it tho. I can get a new one on September 29th and Im excited. But make sure you wait that full two months. They told me thats very important, and my sister had hers done a few yrs ago, shes the one that talked me into it. I love mine. I cant wait to get a real diamond in mine. Remember, dont take it out, itll close, cuz its tissue, not cartlidge. These other answers are not right. I still have my paperwork right here.
